Cyber-insurance readiness
Answer the renewal questionnaire from evidence, not from memory.
A proposal form is a disclosure. Cyber Guys assesses you against the questions Australian insurers actually ask, attaches the evidence behind each answer, and turns the gaps into work with an owner — so the form is filled in from records.
- 10 readiness areas built from insurer questionnaires
- Every answer backed by attached, dated evidence
- Mapped onto the same controls as the Essential Eight
- Gaps become recommendations with an owner and a decision
Cyber Guys is not an insurer, a broker or a provider of financial or insurance advice.

Two of these would have been answered “yes” from memory last year. One of them was not true.
The problem
The questionnaire arrives three weeks before renewal.
Somebody forwards it to the IT provider. The IT provider answers what they can and guesses at the rest. Nobody keeps a copy of what was claimed. Next year, the same thing happens with different answers.
- Answers are given from memory, by whoever happens to be free.
- Nobody records what evidence supported each answer.
- A control that was true in March is assumed to still be true in November.
- The previous year’s answers are not available for comparison.
- At claim time, the disclosure is the document being examined.
What changes
The form becomes an export, not an exercise.
- Each readiness area is assessed and evidenced in advance.
- Evidence carries a date and a review point, so stale claims are visible.
- What you could not evidence becomes a tracked gap with an owner.
- Where you consciously accept a gap, that is recorded with a named person.
- Last year’s position sits alongside this year’s, so improvement is demonstrable.
- The same answers already satisfy the Essential Eight and the mapped frameworks.
What we will not tell you
That this reduces your premium, that it guarantees a claim will be paid, or that it makes you insurable. None of those are within our gift, and any vendor claiming otherwise is describing an outcome an underwriter controls.
What it does is narrower and more useful: it makes your answers true, evidenced and comparable year on year — which is the part of the process that is actually yours.

Fifteen minutes against the insurance readiness framework. Most organisations find at least one answer they would have given incorrectly.
